The City of Barrie is calling on local artists who specialize in digital art or sculpture to submit designs for the 7th annual Mayor’s Innovation Awards and the Barrie Arts Awards.
Mayor’s Innovation Awards - the winning design will be fabricated by the Georgian College Makerspace. Artwork can be created in any medium but, if selected, must be provided as a digital file suitable for large-format production. The design should reflect the theme, Innovation in Barrie, which will align with the award categories.
Barrie Arts Awards statuettes - local artists or artist teams are invited to submit proposals for designing and creating the award statuettes for this year’s Barrie Arts Awards.
Applicants are encouraged to submit designs that are celebratory and will instill a sense of pride in the award recipients. Artwork must be family friendly and community minded.
Selected artists for both programs will receive a monetary award for their winning design. The deadline for submissions for both the trophy and statuette designs is 5 p.m. on May 12, 2025.
